MLS Experience 2007: Stephen deRoux spent most of the season with the reserve team, where he played in 12 games (11 starts) and tallied an assist. He also saw action with the first team, earning six appearances (one start) for a total of 115 minutes on the pitch.
2006: Stephen deRoux ran his way into the D.C. United first team in 2006, making four appearances (two starts) for the club. The speedy midfielder made his MLS debut against Real Salt Lake on 9/9 and went the full 90 in the 1-1 draw. Part of United's Reserve Division team as well, deRoux played in nine matches (six starts).
2005: Able to play in both the midfield and defense, deRoux spent a good portion of the pre-season training with the team before suffering a broken foot. After a summer of healing and rehab, he returned to training and eventually signed with the Black-and-Red. The athletic deRoux played the full 90 at left back in both of the reserve team's final games, helping the team to the inaugural championship.
College 2002-2004: deRoux quickly became an impact player at Prince George's Community College in Largo, MD. As a freshman in 2002, deRoux was named to the Division III National Soccer Coaches Association of America/ adidas Men's Junior College first Team, All-Mid East. He was also an NSCAA Second Team All-American in 2002.
