Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and boasting a lengthy resume as a player and coach, Gaston Maddoni has developed into one of the most sought after talent evaluators and developers of youth talent in the soccer world today. Youth players from as far as Europe and Japan travel to Argentina to work under the tutelage of Gaston, his cousin Manuel and his uncle Ramon. Having played in his own youth in the Boca Juniors youth system, Gaston is now responsible for helping to develop the next phase of Argentina’s soccer elite.

Gaston Maddoni is a member of the famed Maddoni coaching clan headed up by patriarch Ramon Maddoni, who is the current director of the Club Athletico Boca Juniors Youth Academy. Ramon Maddoni, Manuel Maddoni and Gaston Maddoni all have their hands actively inside the training and development of some of Argentina’s most promising youth players coming through the youth academy of the world famous Boca Juniors.

The Maddoni’s have long operated their coaching organization from the origins of local club soccer in Buenos Aires. They currently operate and coach youth soccer at Club Parque, which focuses on youth development from the ages of 5 to 13. Gaston Maddoni is currently the director of training at Club Parque, and oversees youth development from this small club that has generated some of the most impressive soccer talent Argentina has ever placed on the field. Players such as Juan Roman Riquelme, Carlos Tevez, Juan Pablo Sorin, Fernando Gago and Esteban Cambiasso have been trained by the Maddoni’s as they have graduated from the humble beginnings of Club Parque, to the Boca Juniors Youth Academy and on into professional ranks and stardom

At age 13, the most promising youth players in Argentina generally graduate or transition to youth academies established by the various professional teams. The Boca Juniors decided years ago that in order for their academy to be successful, it needed to be directed by a coach and trainer capable of developing breathtaking technique in its youth players. That task was assigned to Ramon Maddoni, who today remains as director of the Boca Juniors youth academy. In addition to his responsibilities as director of training at Club Parque, Gaston Maddoni also serves as one of the principal coaches at the Boca youth academy, and is currently responsible for coaching and development of the top competition teams in the 1996 and 1997 age groups.
